BERKSHIRE ANIMAL D.R.E.A.M.S.
Celebrating Ten Years as Champions for Community Cats

IMPORTANT NEWS & CAT RESCUE UPDATES
Animal DREAMS has been out in full force with large TNR projects. One colony of 13, recently finished, had 9 females! Another colony of 10 cats had 8 females! Imagine, all of these ladies giving birth this spring to kittens. Many of the females already in heat are mere adolescents, born last year. Tiny and still not fully developed, they were nonetheless part of the breeding pool.

The Good News: Animal DREAMS got to them all before they became pregnant or had those spring kittens! We are currently involved in our biggest TNR to date. After just 3 days of trapping, we have already trapped 24 cats and are more than half-way through the colony of almost 40 cats!

WHAT IS ANIMAL D.R.E.A.M.S.?
Animal D.R.E.A.M.S. is a not-for-profit organization improving the lives of feral and abandoned cats. Based in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, Animal D.R.E.A.M.S.' mission is to have all feral cat colonies in Berkshire County managed and stabilized, with healthy cats and a zero reproductive rate, with kittens and non-feral cats socialized and adopted out into loving homes. All cats are screened, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated prior to release or adoption.
WE'RE GROWING STRONG
2011 marks the eleventh year since Animal D.R.E.A.M.S. was founded. It's been an incredible journey so far, with nearly 2500 cat rescues to date. Keeping in mind that cats are prolific breeders, able to birth up to three litters a year, (and with those kittens able to enter the breeding pool as early as five months old), it is easy to see why there is such an overpopulation of cats, and why spaying and neutering as many as we can helps to reduce the numbers of kittens born. With our Trap-Neuter-Return (T-N-R) program, several thousand fewer kittens have been born around Berkshire County.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We are the only organization in Berkshire County to go to where the cats are: in barns, on the streets, under buildings. Our dedicated volunteers work under some pretty unpleasant conditions, all year long, to rescue and improve the lives of the forgotten felines around us.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Our volunteers work very hard throughout the long, bitter winter, trapping as many feral cats as possible before the Spring kitten season begins-eighteen cats living behind an automotive garage... 29 at a goat farm... 21 at a dairy farm... 13 near a Pittsfield housing project... 8 in a trailer park... one cat here, six cats there. The list goes on.
